The International Diving Research and Exploration Organization is a non-profit organization that has been created to share exploration and research information by several of the most active divers in the underwater overhead environments around the world. (cave, wreck, mine, sump, etc.)
Exploration and Research are key parts in understanding our underwater realm, as directly push new techniques, more capable equipment and overall diving development.
Keeping track of developments is a continuous task that National isolated tends to slow down the global growth and overall safety, specially by repeating the same mistakes. IDREO's goal is to actively link National agencies and exploration groups information in a truly International platform.
Ideally, IDREO will be reducing risk and increasing projects efficiency. with information, parameters, diving procedures and knowledge base.
IDREO organization is also a response to the increase of cave diving fatalities in 2011, mostly with divers under Exploration or Research activities.
A specific IDREO Research Project is found as Accident Analysis Project (AAP) which ultimately promotes project mentoring, from explorer seminars to safe and efficient diver training.
Exploration is going beyond the known areas of a diving location, while Research tasks include sampling, surveying, photo & video documentation and data collection. Diving activities that under standardization will create uniform platforms for international teams reference & studies.
